Florida Hospital performs more than 40,000 different surgeries each year,
including cardiovascular, laser, peripheral vascular, neurosurgery, plastic,
microsurgery, limb replantation, urological surgery, kidney transplantation,
gynecological, spine and total joint surgery. As a Nurse Technician working
in this active and diverse patient setting, you'll enjoy a flexible environment
that supports professional growth. You'll also have an opportunity to
work in one of several specialized service areas, including:
- Diabetes
- Family Practice
- Medical Surgical Unit
- Oncology
- Orthopedics
- Psychiatric
- Rehabilitation
- Renal/Urology/Kidney Transplantation Unit
Nursing care on our Medical Surgical Units is delivered in a variety
of models, including:
- Care Pairs (experienced RN working together with a new Graduate RN
or LPN) (This model is the one that's utilized for most Nurse Technicians.)
- Traditional RN and PCT team
- Care Team (RN and LPN using Team Nursing approach)
Utilizing these models for care, we're able to maintain a lower nurse
patient ratio that is based on the workload of the patients, shift and
unit. As a result, our nurses are able to elevate the level of care that
