Our speech/language pathologists are members of an interdisciplinary team that specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with communication and/or swallowing disorders. As a new graduate, our expert mentoring team will support you. In fact, all of our staff members have advanced degrees (either Masters or PhD's) and a Florida State License. They also have or are in the process of obtaining their CCC-S.

If you're graduating, our Speech Department offers a wide variety of work settings, including:

  • Inpatient and outpatient comprehensive rehabilitation
  • Acute care
  • Transitional care
  • Senior programs

The majority of our caseload, for both adult and pediatric patients, involves neurological damage, including:

  • Traumatic brain injury
  • CVA
  • Brain tumors
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Guillian Barre
  • Dysphagia
  • Facial paralysis
  • Developmental delay
  • CAPD
  • Hearing impaired

Requirements

Florida State Speech Language Pathologist (SLAP) license is required.
